The Fourier Transform Demo Room & Listening Booth

We get sent demos, but unfortunately we can't release them all. Not even the ones we like. Instead of throwing them in the bin though, or jamming them under the table leg to stop the table from wobbling, we're going to put a selection online here in the hope that even though we can't help, someone might be able to. However, because we have such incredibly high standards, and because bandwidth ain't cheap, we're going to be selective about what we put on here. So if you send us something and it never appears, please don't take it personally.

Clan

CLAN

CLAN are an improv trio from beautiful Bergamo, nestled in the foothills of the Italian Alps. Their music is chaotic, loose, bewildering and amorphous, but all the time played with unbridled enthusiasm. They sound like they're actually having fun. The piece here is an extract from one of their first sessions together.

Cleo

Cleo

Cleo is 24 and he's from Northern Ireland, although he lives in Manchester. It rains alot in Manchester, some say it's because it's in the middle of a valley. He lived in Reading once, it was full of nice things. He wrote alot of music about feelings and canals. Not sure if you will hear it, but, it comes from inside. He wants to have records out and wants to play at places where people congregate for drinks and good music. He is going to London to study SonicArts. He wants you to enjoy what you hear (not in an aggressive way). He thanks you.

John Cake

John Cake

John Cake is having a very bad year. John Cake made this recording using entirely home made instruments at Studio 45 (his house) in Bedford. They were surprisingly expensive to make. But he really enjoyed creating these tracks. They were recorded in very special circumstances. John Cake does not want any money. Ever. John Cake simply dreams of a proper release of his first work. John Cake would like this work to be played on the radio and reviewed in cool publications. John Cake would lick. Please play loud or on headphones. Thank you for listening. John Cake loves you and you are invited round for a cup of tea or some home made veggie soup anytime – just let him know you are coming so he can get the kettle on.

Axiomatic Integration

Axiomatic Integration

Experimental electronics. Melodic parts evolve out of noisy elements, pictures are broken by abstract forms, grainy sounds are combined with clear ones, organic structures transform into concrete objects, calm intros step up to aggressive sequences. This laptop music is combined with video-projection. In 2003 and 2004 Axiomatic Integration has been on US and Benelux tours with incite/ and GradCom.
